So, you went and got a blog?

So there is this music blog called Driftwood Magazine that I am am going to being shooting for and possibly contributing some articles for in the near future. While trying to get a feel for the type of music they typically review I found THIS. And THIS is Emily Arin’s album “Patch of Land”. All I have to say is that if you are into Laura Veirs I can almost guarantee that you will LOVE Emily Arin. You can stream her whole album right here (which I am currently doing from the Driftwood site). Her voice and writing style remind me SO much of Laura Veirs. I would say her album is probably a little less eclectic than Laura’s lyrically, which in my opinion, probably makes it a little more marketable.*** Either way, you need to hear it because it is fantastic! AH I’M DYING! GO, GO, GO!

***that is NOT to say her lyrics aren’t awesome!

No doubt. I just favorited this video like 2 weeks ago after I saw them open for Cary Brothers and Greg Laswell…come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I blogged it too?

Oh well, it’s worth a second posting!

this song is my LIFE right now. jess larue told me to listen to it last night when i was having a bad night and it was perfectly perfect. it made me sad, it made me cry, it made me hopeful, it made me realize i was being silly…it made me cry sad tears and happy tears all at the same time. it’s the best. it also reminded me of how alike we all are and how we all get beaten down, and thats okay. i have listened to it 18 times already today and i don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. go listen! if you don’t fall in love with it you’re not human.
